SHOW NOTES

Quick question: when was the last time you felt something and had no idea what to do with it?

This short episode is the front door to the show. In a couple of minutes, I’ll tell you what Emotions for Humans is, who it’s for, and the one idea everything here is built on: emotion isn’t something that happens to you. It’s something you can train.

I’m Jon Hunter, and I’m an acting coach – which really just means I teach people how emotion actually works. Not in theory. In the body. On demand. For years I’ve taught this to actors, and here’s the secret: actors aren’t special. They’re just the people who signed up to practise. This show is for everyone else with a nervous system – the anger you swallow at work, the tears that ambush you at weddings, the confidence that shows up ten minutes after you needed it.

No therapy-speak. No “good vibes only”. No pretending there’s a right way to feel.

Now.

Go be a human.

TRANSCRIPT

Quick question: when was the last time you felt something… and had no idea what to do with it?

I’m Jon Hunter. I’m an acting coach – which really just means I teach people how emotion actually works. Not in theory. In the body. On demand.

For years I’ve taught this work to actors. And here’s the secret: actors aren’t special. They train emotions on purpose. Everyone else gets them by accident. The only difference is, actors signed up to practise.

Think about it. You were taught to read. Taught to drive. But nobody ever taught you what to do with the frustration, the butterflies, the loneliness. You were just told to calm down. Feeling was the one subject without a class.

This show is for anyone who wants that practice. Tools for the anger you swallow at work. The tears that ambush you at weddings. The confidence that shows up ten minutes after you needed it.

Because emotion isn’t something that happens to you. It’s something you can train. Like a muscle.

Each week: one challenge, one practice, one honest conversation about what it actually feels like to be a human with a nervous system.

No therapy-speak. No “good vibes only”. And no pretending there’s a right way to feel.

This is Emotions for Humans. I’m Jon Hunter. Let’s practise.

Episode one is about the ten minutes after class – and why they matter as much as the two hours in it. Follow the show. I’ll see you there.
