Privacy Policy

Last updated: 1 October 2026

Plain language, because privacy policies that need a lawyer to read are part of the problem. Here’s everything this website knows about you.

WHO I AM

I’m Jon Hunter – Emotions for Humans. Any question about anything on this page: jon@emotionsforhumans.com

WHAT I COLLECT

Two things, both light.

Your email address, if you join the mailing list. You type it into the signup form and tick the box saying you want the emails – that’s the whole transaction. I use your address to tell you when a new episode is out, and occasionally about other things happening at the studio – workshops, one-to-one coaching, that sort of thing. There are no comments, no user accounts, and nothing for sale on this site.

What you send me, if you email me directly. I keep that so I can reply.

And the site counts visits – anonymous, aggregated, and explained below. It can’t be traced back to you.

WHERE IT LIVES

The mailing list is managed by SendFox, an email service based in the United States. Your email address is stored and sent from there, which means it leaves New Zealand. SendFox’s privacy policy has the details.

This website is hosted by Namecheap, whose servers are also overseas. The host keeps standard server logs – technical records of visits, including IP addresses – for security, and I don’t use them to track anyone.

Visit counts are processed by Google Analytics, which also stores its data outside New Zealand.

COOKIES AND TRACKING

The site uses Google Analytics to count visits: which pages get read, which listen buttons get used, where visitors arrive from. Google sets a few cookies in your browser and records things like rough location (city level), device and browser type, and how long you stayed on a page. IP addresses are anonymised, the reports are aggregated, and I never see anyone’s name, email, or address.

I keep this as light as it can be: no advertising features, no data sold or shared, nothing used to follow you around the internet. It still can’t tell you what you had for breakfast, and I still don’t want to know.

If you would rather not be counted, the “do not track” setting in your browser stops it here.

YOUR RIGHTS

Under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 you can ask what personal information I hold about you, ask me to correct it, or ask me to delete it. Email me and I’ll sort it out. The unsubscribe link in every email removes you from the list straight away.

IF THIS CHANGES

If I ever add anything else that touches your data, I’ll update this page and the date above before it goes live.
